Community Guidelines
Our mission is to build the most accurate and comprehensive lyric database in the world. These guidelines help us maintain high standards for everyone.
Lyric Accuracy
When submitting lyrics, please ensure they are as accurate as possible. Follow these rules:
- Transcribe what you hear: Do not rely on unofficial sources if they sound incorrect.
- Proper Formatting: Use standard capitalization and punctuation. Break lyrics into logical stanzas.
- Identify Sections: Use tags like [Verse 1], [Chorus], and [Bridge] to organize the song.
- No Ad-libs: Only include significant ad-libs that contribute to the song's meaning.
Translations & Romanizations
Translations should capture the essence and meaning of the song, not just a literal word-for-word conversion.
- Context Matters: Explain cultural references in annotations if they don't translate directly.
- Romanization Standards: Use standard systems (e.g., Revised Romanization for Korean, Hepburn for Japanese).
- Credit Sources: If you are using a professional translation, ensure you have permission and provide proper credit.
