Edward Christopher Sheeran MBE (born February 17, 1991) is an English singer-songwriter. Known for his acoustic pop and folk-influenced sound, Sheeran is one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with over 150 million records sold worldwide. Born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, and raised in Framlingham, Suffolk, Sheeran began writing songs at age 11 and moved to London at 17 to pursue music. His debut album + (2011) featured the hit "The A Team" and established him as a major new talent. His follow-up albums — × (Multiply, 2014), ÷ (Divide, 2017), = (Equals, 2021), and - (Subtract, 2023) — all topped charts globally. "Shape of You" from ÷ became the most-streamed song in Spotify history with over 4 billion streams. Sheeran has won four Grammy Awards, five Brit Awards, and an Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter of the Year. His live performances are renowned for his use of loop pedals and one-man-band arrangements.
